Antoinette Parekh - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Antoinette is the author of "200 Ways to Calm Down" The book is an easy-to-use manual for people who are coping with a crisis or symptoms of anxiety and stress. It draws on a wide range of practical techniques that have been shown to reduce anxiety in the short-term and bring about changes in long-term patterns of thinking and feeling.
 
Antoinette has been living and working in Santa Cruz for close to ten years. As well as having a private practice in Santa Cruz, she teaches Positive Discipline parenting classes in the Elementary School District, and co-parenting, and assertiveness classes for New View Learning Center.
 
Antoinette is also an active member of Santa Cruz Zen Center, and incorporates the compassionate and strength based orientation of Buddhist principles in her work. Her experience has shown that even the most challenging problems can be worked with if there is focused therapeutic skills applied and a faith in a person's capacity to harness their desire for growth and happiness.
